Lumi™ is a game changing approach to screening suspected drug items on the street, enabling officers to screen suspected controlled drug items themselves. Items can be scanned through clear plastic packaging, avoiding the need to open packaging for analysis. This reduces the risks associated with officers being exposed to unknown substances and maintains sample integrity.
Using the Lumi™ mobile app the officer enters relevant case details and takes a photograph of the item.
The spectral scan captured from the sample representing the chemical composition of the substance is transferred to a secure cloud environment where drug detection algorithms analyse the data and determines whether drugs of interest are present.
Results are returned almost instantly within the app and a summary report is also automatically generated and emailed to the officer.
